Circumcision removes the foreskin, a functional and sensitive layer that protects the glans. Over time, this can lead to glans dryness and reduced sensitivity due to keratinization. Foreskin restoration, a non-surgical method, may help increase glans sensitivity by countering these effects.

What Happens After Circumcision

The foreskin serves as a protective covering for the glans (the head of the penis). When it is removed, the glans is continuously exposed to air, friction, and clothing. This exposure leads to a process known as keratinization, where the skin becomes drier and tougher.

As a result, sensitivity may decrease over time, which can make sexual activity feel less intense or even mechanical.

Sensitivity and Erection Quality

As men age, testosterone levels naturally decline. Erections can become less spontaneous and may require more direct stimulation. If sensitivity has been reduced due to circumcision, these changes can be more noticeable.

Lower sensitivity may contribute to:

  • Slower or less frequent erections

  • Increased effort to maintain arousal

How Foreskin Restoration May Help

Foreskin restoration involves gradually stretching the remaining shaft skin to grow new skin that can eventually cover the glans. This process can be done manual tugging or with foreskin restoration devices.

Restoring coverage to the glans may help:

  • Rehydrate and soften the glans surface

  • Reduce keratinization

  • Improve sensitivity

  • Enhance sexual response with less stimulation

The process requires patience — typically 1 to 2 years or more — but many men report noticeable improvements in sensitivity within the first few weeks.
